UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) banned Binance from the country

It is good to know that our Complaints to Countries and Organizations are getting results, although with every regulator you have to have a dialogue, sometimes this dialogue can last almost a year, as it was with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). But, the results of such dialogues, providing data - do their job.

Today, we can celebrate a small victory and say thank you to the FCA for their decision, thank you for your firm stance on an unregulated casino called Binance.

UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has imposed a ban on the British unit Binance to carry out any regulated activities without prior written approval of the agency, a similar note appeared in the registration documents of Binance Markets Limited (registration number 688849):

 


Additionally, the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) issued a consumer warning, where the regulator noted that Binance Markets Limited is part of the Binance Group.



In the order, the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) listed measures the firm must take by the close of business on June 30, 2021, as follows:

- The Firm must not engage in any regulated activities without the prior written consent of the FCA and the prohibition will take effect immediately (June 25, 2021).

- By the close of business on June 30, 2021, the Firm must post prominently on the Binance.com website, and any other communication channels or social media, mobile and desktop applications of Binance, a notice stating:


- The firm will remove or, if this is not possible, give instructions to remove any advertising and PR activities it currently conducts live, in whatever form, by June 30, 2021.

- - The firm must provide written confirmation of the steps it has taken to comply with paragraphs 1.1(2) and 1.1(3) to the FCA by the close of business on June 30, 2021.

- The firm must secure and retain all records and/or information (physical or electronic) pertaining to all UK consumers from its systems in their original form or in a copy that is identical to the source of the material. They must be retained in form and location within the U.K., and notify the FCA in writing by July 2, 2021. All records must be furnished to the FCA or to a person designated by the FCA promptly upon request.
